Ivan Zoot, director of education for Andis, will use the company’s new Envy Clipper to instruct stylists on improving their clipper cutting skills. Zoot’s classes, titled “Green with Envy,” will be held at shows and regional events around the county in 2012. According to Zoot, the “green” refers to the extra money that salons can make by ramping up their clipper cutting techniques.

“Men’s haircutting is the fastest growing segment of the beauty industry,” he says. “If you want to capture the dollars in this segment, you have to be able to clipper cut.”

The classes will teach stylists how to evaluate face shape, hair texture and density to determine the must suitable hair cut for the male client. Zoot will then use the Envy Clipper, utilizing its adjustments and setting to demonstrate how to achieve the desired look. The classes will also reference trends in men’s fashion.

The Green with Envy classes will be held at International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) in Long Beach, California January 28-30, at America’s Beauty Show in Chicago March 3-5, at the International Beauty Show in New York, April 22-24, Premiere Orlando, June 2-4 and ISSE Midwest in Rosemont, Illinois November 4-5.

Additional classes will be listed throughout the year at andis.com and on Andis’ Facebook page.
