Guido for Redken created some beautiful, minimalistic versions of the low pony at yesterday's Reed Krakoff show. Backstage was incredible. Some of the most gorgeous models EVERRRRR and they all rush in looking insanely beautiful as they're coming from other shows. Their make-up is immediatly wiped off, the nail polish removed, and the hair striped and, in some cases, re-washed. It's really quite an experience.

Yesterday, I was in the ladies room while backstage at Reed Krakoff, and a model was getting her hair washed in the sink (hey, you have to improvise!). She was almost in tears when she found out the hair Guido was creating was going to be a natural look. "I have had SO much gel in my hair and ripped through my hair, I am so happy to finally have something natural looking!" Oh, I felt so badly for these poor women.

Here's the look Guido created, and how to replicate it:

Create the Look:

- Apply satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion to damp hair and rough dry.

- Create a messy center part.

- Pull hair back into a low slung ponytail about 5 inches lower than the nape of the neck; secure with a piece of black leather.

- Pull a few pieces out around the face to finish and spray Nature’s Rescue Radiant Sea Spray into the ponytail for added texture.

The low-slung ponytail at Reed Krakoff reflected the designer’s minimalism, who wanted the hair to feel very achievable but remain sophisticated.

“Although ponytails are a style we see a lot on the runway and in real life, women can find new ways of updating it, and today we updated it by securing the ponytail with a leather strap which Reed chose." –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant
