Hola, from Cancun, Mexico, at the beautiful Moon Palace resort! I’m here with the lovely Farouk Systems team and hundreds (or is it thousands?!?) of hairdressers, plus distributors, salon owners, and celebrities for Farouk’s 17th International Sales and Buying Conference--which also marks the 25th anniversary of Farouk's ammonia-free color and lightener. This year’s theme: Be Safe, Be Beautiful.
All guests were given T-shirts in advance to wear to the airport that read: “Be Safe. Be Beautiful. Buy American.” It was SO cool to sit at the gate departing out of Chicago and see all the proud CHI hairdressers sporting their Ts. I’m so excited to be a part of this event!
And they’re keeping us busy!...
Friday evening’s events include a Welcome Party with live music and entertainment, plus a meet and greet with Miss USA, Miss Teen and the Miss Universe Ladies.
Saturday morning and afternoon is the General Session, which includes an Opening Presentation from Team South America, welcome speeches from Rami Shami and THE Farouk himself, also a “State of the Union” presentation, a peek at the new Trend collection, and, of course, all the latest and greatest from all the brands that fall under the Farouk Systems umbrella.
Later in the day is the Education and Sales Break Outs—which includes a break out class on Sunglitz—and, in the evening, the Education/Schools Event & Awards Ceremony.
Sunday looks to be even more exciting as it begins with an Opening Presentation from Team Middle East and then a presentation from Farouk! Also, bum bum bum, guess who’s the guest speaker?? Mario Lopez! Remember A.C. Slater, from Saved by the Bell? He was my second-ever crush growing up (my first crush was Full House’s Uncle Jessie).
Later, there is a Closing Presentation from Team Australia and a farewell from Farouk.
And, to end the event right is a Banquet Dinner and Awards Gala, where everyone will be dressed to impress for the formal party. AND a special sure-to-be-spectacular show from Team North America... I can’t wait!
Built in throughout the event is meet and greets with the pageant ladies, Mario Lopez, and special guests from TV.
