Beauty Changes Lives Event Will Be At America's Beauty Show 2013The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation will shine the spotlight on how the beauty industry is giving back to the next generation of beauty and wellness professionals during America’s Beauty Show (ABS) on Monday, March 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event will pair industry legends—practicing hair stylists, educators and business visionaries—with beauty school students to showcase how beauty truly is changing lives.

Elan Sassoon, son of Vidal Sassoon, will remark on the creativity, craftsmanship and commitment to education that defined his father’s legendary career. He will also announce a $1.5M grant by Wella, the salon professional division of P&G, that will fund the Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program. The program will award five-day advanced training courses at Sassoon Academy’s to selected licensed cosmetologists.For aspiring beauty professionals, the Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program will award 50 percent of cosmetology school tuition to 20 recipients annually thru 2017.

Industry icons in the hair, nail and education industry will share how they are paying forward their talent and time to prepare the next generation of beauty legends through the Beauty Changes Lives Celebrity Mentorship program. Diana Schmidtke, hair stylist and groomer to some of Hollywood’s leading men, will share how she is providing her mentee Leonor Del Castillo with insight into the world of celebrity grooming., CND Style Director Jan Arnold and Cheyanne Birchall will share how they worked together behind the scenes at couture fashion events.

Award-winning international guest artist Tracey Hughes will share how her work as an artist is enhanced by her commitment to ongoing education. Beyond being a coveted guest artist, Hughes has also created a breadth of educational resources that help hair stylists enhance their skills throughout their professional journey.

Beauty Changes Lives Foundation President Lynelle Lynch commented on the enthusiastic support Beauty Changes Lives is receiving from organizations and individuals eager to support the program. “The generosity of leaders in our industry is truly redefining what a scholarship experience is all about. We’re not just providing funding, but connecting today’s biggest names in beauty with tomorrow’s talent through successful mentoring experiences,” said Lynch, who will emcee the Beauty Changes Lives program at ABS.
