For the Ancient Greek poet, the muse was a powerful figure, pivotal in the creative process when summoned as a source of artistic inspiration. This season, Sassoon Academy launches The Muses collection, where hair teeters on the edge between chaos and control between androgynous bowl shapes, barbered bobs, finger waves and dishevelment.

Arrowhead shaped sections fit within the hairlines and are cut to create contrasting lengths, textures and unexpected movement. The harmonious reds, oranges and fuchsias deliberately contrast with stripped back and sleek palettes of pewter and chocolate.

“The Muses collection encompasses three different creative visions: Iris, Soho Boho and Ye-Ye,” says Richie Rivera, Sassoon North American Color Director. “Each vision includes different color placement techniques to achieve the desired looks, including off-kilter, circular sectioning to create color graduation. The resulting color enhances the shape of the hair cut and creates a beautiful, strong look.”
