Matrix Artistic Educator Todd Kane created his Urban Southwest collection, inspired by the increasing urbanization of his hometown, Phoenix, Arizona.

. The images reflect the vibrant colors of the Valley of the Sun and the textures of the landscape. The hair etchings were inspired by the art and culture of the area’s Native American population.

Kane, a 2013 NAHA finalist in the Newcomer category, further captured the urban feel by shooting in natural sunlight while moving on and off the Phoenix light rail transit system during its business hours commute.
