Is your client ready for a change? Though we often associate the new year, January and February, with the time when hair makeovers are at their peak, the summer season also brings with it a sense of coming out for clients, a time to refresh their current look with new color or a crisp cut. Take, for example, a few of the more notable celebrity hair makeovers we've seen in just the past few months...

January Jones -- Fresh Fringe

Awesome Celebrity Summer Makeovers

The Mad Men star has been through a bit of trauma with her tresses, switching up her color so often for acting roles that it was "falling out in clumps," at one point. In June, already back to signature blonde from a striking red color, she opted to try out a bangin' new set of fringe and to lose a few inches of her shoulder-length style. Seen here with a more retro-styled, dramatic side sweep, January also rocks it sleek and chic for a more casual look.

Styling tip: For a side-swept bang, use a lightweight styling product like Sexy Hair What a Body (Ultra Bodifying Blow Dry Gel) to give direction and control the cuticle.

Demi Lovato -- Blonder, Brighter

Awesome Celebrity Summer Makeovers

Demi is no stranger to color experimentation -- we saw her rocking blue extensions with her long, blonde hair last summer. She temporarily went back to her more natural brunette locks last fall, but the style chameleon gradually lightened up for the season, with a shorter, more modern length for 2013.

Salon tip: Strongly encourage -- no, practically beg -- your client going through a major color transformation like Demi's to leave the salon with products to fortify her color-treated hair in between salon visits. Check out this new luxe line of Keratin Repair products from AG Hair, for example.

Jennifer Lawrence -- Cream of the Crop

Awesome Celebrity Summer Makeovers

We've seen her with her deep brown, Hunger Games color-treated braid, her golden blonde bombshell waves ... but short and shaggy are two things we've never seen on the breakout star in the few years she's graced the big screen. An hour before her call time for an event in April, Jennifer spontaneously told her stylist, Mark Townsend, she wanted to go shorter -- much shorter -- for the first time in her life. Townsend obliged -- he was actually so excited he cut his finger in the process, he says -- and gave Jennifer plenty of texture and layers as requested, and she's been rocking the shorter look ever since.

Texture tip: Townsend told Harper's Bazaar this is the perfect cut and style for Jennifer for summer: "She doesn't have to worry about keeping frizz down. She can just rock her natural texture."
