Neroli Salon & Spa in Milwaukee, WI, will celebrate the move of their original downtown location after 20 years by participating in a global 24-hour cut-a-thon on Earth Day, April 22, with Aveda. Aveda stylists in salons worldwide – from Tokyo, to Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Milwaukee – will volunteer their time to offer haircuts in return for a donation to Earth Month.

Neroli Salon's Cut-A-Thon on Earth Day

The aim is to set a Guinness World Record for most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period. A ribbon cutting with Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee Downtown Executive Director Beth Weirick, Alderman Bob Bauman, Historic Third Ward Executive Director Nancy O’Keefe, Aveda Great Lakes Director of Salon Development Joviann Mech and Neroli Salon & Spa Owner Susan Haise (also owner of the Aveda Building) will open the event.

Local charity the Alliance for the Great Lakes (www.greatlakes.org) will receive 100% of the proceeds from the event.

Neroli Salon & Spa has set a fundraising goal of $5000 for the cut-a-thon with $25 haircuts with select technicians between all four locations (Downtown, Brookfield, Bayshore, East Side). Chair massages ($1/minute), polish changes ($10) and makeup applications ($10) will also be available. This event is part of a global effort by the Aveda network of beauty professionals to raise $5 million for clean water in April 2013.
