HOW-TO: Kristen Stewart's Feathered Fishtail Braid

Lauren Salapatek | April 19, 2013 | 10:47 AM

HOW-TO: Kristen Stewart's Feathered Fishtail BraidActress Kristen Stewart’s twisted raffia braid is easy to achieve and looks amazing for special occasions, whether it be a day or evening event,” says Doreen Guarneri, co-creator of American Culture brands and co-owner of The Look Spa Salon, American Culture Premiere Institute, Greenlawn, NY.

Try it: “To add texture, spray hair with Simply Smooth xtend between dry shampoo through the interior and near the scalp as well as down the strands, tousling hair with your fingers to leave it loose and messy,” she says. “Take a section from the ears to the back of the head and flip hair loosely into three sections. Twist hair into a French braid, and as you follow the technique down the length of the hair use a light twist, keeping them frayed. It may help to keep pomade nearby, dispersing it into the hair with your fingers to help keep the frayed texture. Fasten with a hair tie and wrap hair around it for disguise.”
