How To Choose a Photographer For NAHANAHA

A winning NAHA photo has to include flawless hair, make-up, fashion and one more very important factor: photography. In this competition, you can have all of the elements for a winning submission, but if your photography isn’t up to par, it can be a problem.

Q. What advice would you give into choosing the best photographer? What if you’re on a tight budget?

A: “Having the right team on place for your NAHA entry is essential but the photographer is truly your partner and MVP,” says Charlie Price, Scruples International Creative Consultant and multiple NAHA winner. “Here are three key tips that have worked for me:

1) Use a photographer that not only likes fashion and beauty but also follows beauty and fashion magazines and regularly shoots beauty—knowing how to pose models is an art. The photographer has to either be seasoned or have a talent and flair for beauty.

2) Find a photographer that knows about NAHA or is willing to do research about it. I depend on my photographer to push me and help refine my ideas.

3) Make sure the photographer will meet with you to help construct storyboards and select models, make-up, nails and wardrobe in the month leading up to the shoot—the photographer must be as enrolled in the concept as you are!"
