The Kyoto collection by Craig Smith of Fruition Salon in Brisbane, Australia is a work of art itself, which was inspired by art of Rene Gruau.

Gruau was a 20th Century French illustrator who created some of world’s most recognizable fashion illustrations, especially for several Christian Dior brands.

The fluid, ethereal lines and colors are off set with hair that is both elegant and bold. The styles, whether glamorous, edgy or classic, appear to be part of an artful watercolor print.

Smith is a perennial finalist in Australia’s Hair Expo and was Queensland Hairdresser of the Year in both 2010 and 2011. He is also an educator for Schwarzkopf professional products.
