I drew inspiration from vintage porcelain dolls. I envisioned dolls that were being controlled, yet were fighting their puppet master. I combined bold patterns and soft textures, both in their dress and hair/makeup to create a sense of conflict. Dolls as we know them are proper, beautiful and confined. I wanted to capture their darker side.
