THE EVENT: The Redken Artist Connection (RAC2014)

THE DETAILS: More than 750 salon professionals from around the world attended a conference at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas for three days of intense education and to learn more about the latest products and trends from top Redken educators including David Stanko, Sam Villa, Dhaniel Doud, Justin Isaac and more. Classes offered included "Dry Revolution", "Blonde Obsessed", "Trends" and "Competitive Edge". Ann Mincey wrapped up the event with a  presentation on "The Client Point Of View" to a standing room only class.

WHAT'S NEW: So much! Here is just a sampling:

-The new Redken Styling features eight different categories to allow the professional and client to "Style Your Story". The products have sleek new packaging and an intuitive navigation system that is color coded by end result.

-Two new collections within Redken Styling were introduced: FLEX and Pillow Proof Blowdry.

-Splashlights, the new color trend inspired by spotlight effects was introduced.

-Musician and model Sky Ferreira, the new style line muse, was introduced.

-A big hit: new advertisements featuring Redken artists were posted throughout the venue.

-Color Extend Magnetics Haircare Line, with Redken's IPN and Charge-Attract Complex, was launched.

HIGHLIGHTS: Among the many highlights was a fashion show from Celebrity Stylist and salon owner Rodney Cutler who presented trends for spring/summer 2014, sharing some of the looks he created from the most recent New York Fashion Week. Another highlight was an afternoon performance from Sky Ferreira to kick off RAC2014.

GIVING: The Helping Hands program, led by Odyssey Teams, guided the group for two hours to build hands for children throughout the world.

THE LAST WORD: According to Leslie Marino, GM of Redken and Pureology, "Our artists are the backbone and the heart of our industry and getting a chance to show them what we have in store for 2014 is an amazing opportunity." Adds Sheri Doss, Vice President of Education Worldwide, Redken and Pureology,  "RAC demonstrates what we are all about: People connecting with people and transforming lives."
