Celebrity hairstylists Ray Salazar and Corey Chambers of Nelson j Salon in Beverly Hills foresee a lot of "off the shoulders" drama and glamour in hairstyles for the 86th Academy Awards.

"Shoulders stand out more when the hair is pinned up, but instead of being neatly arranged, we will see a lot of undone updos, pinned buns and chignons," says Salazar, who specializes in special events updos and styling at Nelson j Salon. "Since it is the year of the bob, we should also see sleek, above-the-shoulder cuts emanating a lot of high gloss and movement. Thanks to the warm Southern California sun, the brilliant gowns will be sleeveless and hair will be swept off of them to add drama."

Says Chambers, "The Golden Globes looks seemed clean and classic across the board, however I'm hoping that everyone gets more dramatic and edgy for the Oscars. High drama will be complemented by a lot of swept back buns and high ponytails. But if the dresses stay very simple, we'll see a lot of big, blown out waves and curls."

The 86th Academy Awards will be on March 2, 2014 at 7 p.m. EST. Join MODERN with the commentary!
