GOLDWELL LAUNCHES 2008 TREND ZOOM COLOR CHALLENGE
National winners to compete at international finals in Valencia, Spain in October.
International winners to join Trend Zoom 2010 Creative Team.

Baltimore-Goldwell announces the second annual Trend Zoom Color Challenge, an exciting, international color competition that invites colorists to interpret the Trend Zoom 2008 trend worlds-Rockmantic and Newstalgia-in a highly creative way and then have their interpretation professionally photographed. Goldwell Colorists can choose to enter one of three categories:
o     The Creative Colorist Category: For colorists who love working with Goldwell's Topchic permanent color and/or Goldwell's Colorance demi-permanent product.
o     The Elumen Colorist Category: For colorists who love to “illuminate hair” with Goldwell's Elumen.
o     Partner Colorist Category: Colorists who work with Goldwell as a freelancer are invited to interpret the trends with a Goldwell color of their choice.

Based on submitted photos, national winner will be chosen in each of the three categories in countries around the world. All national winners will be invited to participate at the international live competition in Valencia, Spain in October and each will receive a trip for two to the finals. International winners will receive the title of Global Creative Colorist, Global Elumen Colorist or Global Partner Colorist and be invited to be part of the international creative team that will create the Goldwell Trend Zoom Collection for 2009.

When it comes to creating beautiful, wearable color, North American stylists are in a class by themselves. This year, Canadian Cindy Hudson from The Hair Factory in St. Johns, NL, won the Creative Colorist category at the 2007 Color Challenge finals in Berlin and joins the Trend Zoom 2009 creative team.

“After winning Canada with an image from my Raw Elements collection, it was so cool to compete with the international winners on stage in Berlin,” she says. “Japan was on one side of me, South Africa on the other. We were all colorists doing the same thing. I love to compete, because it opens my mind, inspires me and makes me stronger. Plus, my clients are so excited for me and love to hear all about it. I can't wait to begin creating the 2009 trends!”

National and international judges include famous independent hair stylists, members of the professional press and fashion experts. Entries will be judged based on interpretation of the trend world, color technique, product use, appearance and attractiveness of the total style, harmony of cut and color and aesthetics of the photo.

Based on a large number of requests, we have extended the deadline for contest entries. All entries must be received by Wednesday, June 11th.  Entries should be sent to:
