Cosmoprof North America, held recently at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, served up education, a vibrant show floor with four pavilions, the North American Hairstyling Awards and 740 product exhibits to manufacturers, distributors and salon and spa professionals. Produced by the Professional Beauty Association, the show included International Country Pavilions and an Emerging Beauty area that brought new brands and buyers together.

Cosmoprof's educational line-up included The Learning Lounge: Combat Compensation, a daylong workshop for salon and spa owners and managers to help them navigate the employment aspects of their business. Other educational programs addressed sustainable packaging, niche branding, developing a private label business and pointers on winning a NAHA award from the winners themselves.

The PBA's annual Business Forum explained the association's political advocacy programs, plans and initiatives and member benefits and concluded with a presentation by husband-and-wife political pundits Mary Matalin and James Carville.

Carmen DePasquale, CEO of DePasquale Companies, which includes salons, spas, distribution and manufacturing, was honored with City of Hope's Spirit of Life Award during Cosmoprof North America.
