KPSS President and CEO Mario Argenti, who oversees North American operations for Goldwell and KMS recently told MODERN about their brands’ latest marketing tool to help stylists and colorists succeed in spite of the economy.

A special “Don’t Gamble on the Recession” deck of playing cards features salon-specific suits of Etiquette, Service, Atmosphere, Staff, Financial and Marketing, with tips in each category. But the best hand of all comes from 40 individual “idea” cards that showcase practical, proven business-builders from salon owners in the Goldwell and KMS networks.

“This is about salons helping salons,” said Argenti. “The ideas are collected from salons across the country, and all are identified.”

Argenti says they created the “Don’t Gamble on the Recession” deck and are sharing it with the salon industry because KPSS wants all salons to be healthy. “We really take this to heart. It’s time for manufacturers, distributors and salons to come together to support and protect salon business.”

If you want to check out a different type of card game, Argenti and Goldwell are bringing a world of colorists and stylists together in Las Vegas this fall for the finale of the 2009 Trend Zoom Color Challenge, a global competition with winners earning the right to help develop the 2011 Trend Zoom collection. The event happens October 25-27 at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and all beauty professionals are invited.

In addition to world-class education on color and styling trends, attendees also experience The Business of Hair Color seminars and the Trend Zoom Hair Color Fashion Gala.
