Modern Salon has just received word that Tabatha Coffey, star of Bravo's "Tabatha's Salon Takeover" and "Shear Genius", has agreed to host the Matrix Mannequin Mania Contest. The contest, running from April 1, 2010 to July 31, 2010, is open to all stylists willing to be judged on a new cut, color and/or style created on a mannequin. A photograph of the "model" will be judged by a panel of industry experts…including ME!

The prizes are especially inviting for the various categories:

"Stylist" prize: $25,000 and get a chance to spend a day with Tabatha in her salon. "Salon Team" prize: $25,000 and spend two days with Tabatha in YOUR salon.

"Student" prize: $25,000 and spend one day with Tabatha at your school.

"Matrix Friends and Family" prize: $25,000 and spend one day with Tabatha at a location near you.

There are additional prizes, including $1000 gift cards for semi-finalists. All results will be announced in November.
