Salon industry legends honored at ISSE
Christopher Dove, Ann Mincey, Sonya Dove and Robert Cromeans were all honored at the Legends and Icons Gala at the International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach, CA.

THE EVENT:

The Legends and Icons Gala, which kicked off the International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach, California, on January 30.

THE DETAILS: Four hundred beauty professionals gathered and dined to celebrate and honor industry legends and icons. Ann Mincey (legend), Robert Cromeans (icon) and Sonya and Christopher Dove (icons) were awarded and celebrated. The event supported PBA/NCA Cares Fund and an additional $3,400 was raised for Haiti earthquake relief.

SEEN: In attendance were industry celebrities including: Tabatha Coffey, Charlie Price, Mary Brunetti, Ruth Roche, Martin Parsons and Nick Arrojo.

THE BEST SONG: Ann Mincey's sister, Jan Quinn, made the award extra special when she performed "their" special traditional birthday song. "To be honored as a ‘legend' is unfathomable to me," said Mincey. "All I've ever done in my 35-year history with Redken and this industry is love hairdressers and salon professionals. The message I carried to them globally is that there's a quiet light that shines in every heart, and implored them to shine on every person that comes on their path. I've encouraged them to take care of themselves first and then experience the increased capacity and creativity to take care of their world. If loving is legendary then I accept this honor, this award, with gratitude."

THE LAST WORD: "The inaugural Legends and Icons Gala at ISSE was an overwhelming success," said Bruce Selan, vice president, Zotos International and PBA Chair. "The event was first rate and proves the industry enjoys coming together in support of those who have left an indelible mark on the lives and careers of so many."
