The Story Behind Emma Watson's New 'Do
Getting the story on Emma Watson's new style wasn't as easy as I thought. Rodney Cutler, the man who created the style, was sworn to secrecy. Here's an excerpt of our conversation about the star's new short cut:
âThe phone has been ringing off the hook,â said Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon referring to the news that just broke that he was responsible for the exciting transformation of Emma Watson from a classic longhaired movie star look to the new Twiggy/Mia Farrow cropped silhouette. âIâm not answering any calls but Iâll talk to you because I just had so much fun at our February cover shoot!â
OK, Rodney. So talk.
âI canât talk,â he said.
Rodney, you tease! Who said you canât talk?
âIâm not allowed,â he said. âBut I canât talk about that either. Letâs just say I am respecting my client/stylist relationship.â
Which client? Emma? A producer? An agency?
âNot talking,â he continued. âBut, I promise I will tell you when I get the go-ahead.â
So, in the meantime, we will just have to go with what Emma has shared herself:
"Dear all,â she writes on her Facebook page, âCut my hair off a few days ago... Feels incredible. I love it. I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma x."
Emma told EW.com, "The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it. I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through. I've wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, 'Right. This is it.'"
And that IS something Rodney was able to discuss: âIt looks great, doesnât it!â
