Melissa Hill | July 10, 2011 | 11:19 PM

If you’re looking for inspiration, the place to be yesterday was undoubtedly Toronto, Ontario, where the 2010 Wella Trend Vision competition took place. In addition to presentations from Wella, Sebastian and Nioxin platform artists and creative directors, winners were determined from among finalists competing for the chance to represent their countries at the International Trend Vision in Paris. For the first time, the local competition included both U.S. and Canadian finalists for an event with a true international flair.

USA finalist in the Young Talent
category, Garrett Markenson.

Held at Toronto hotspot, Muzik, the program started off focusing on fringe with FabioSementilli, a local salon owner and the Creative and Technical Director of P&G Salon Professional North America. Sementilli was followed by three Sebastian platform artists, who showed off a collaborative collection called Pharoahs of Form. They also presented three very different looks, all using just Shaper to create the versatile formations. A Nioxin presentation showcasing shiny, healthy hair, was followed up by a parade of the completed looks from the Wella Trend Vision finalists. Fan favorite Nick Arrojo took to the stage while the votes were tallied, demonstrating his latest collection inspired by fashion, music, and overall, NYC. The edgy styles were all Arrojo—wearable, fashionable, pretty hair.
