Don't Forget to Enter NAHA and Beacon!

If you are thinking about entering the North American Hairstyling Awards and/or the Beacon Educational Program, make sure you allow yourself ample time to prepare!

The NAHA application deadline is February 8, 2011, and the Beacon application deadline is March 2, 2001. You can find additional information on the application processes and these events at The Professional Beauty Association's website,

In its 22nd year, NAHA is the most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America. Each year, hair stylists, make-up artists and salon owners are recognized in 13 different categories for their outstanding skill, artistry and business savvy in the professional salon industry. Entering NAHA adds prestige to a stylist’s or salon professional’s portfolio and places these individuals amongst the industry’s brightest and most talented stylists. The star-studded awards ceremony will be held on July 24, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.


The Beacon Educational Program gives cosmetology and esthetician students a jump start and competitive advantage for a career in the professional beauty industry. This premier program only accepts the most talented, business savvy future professionals to take part in specialized educational sessions that give students training in resume writing, interviewing, leadership and entrepreneurial strategies. Beacon participants are also able to network and make invaluable connections with regard to current and future career opportunities with some of the industry’s top stylists, successful salon owners, and leading executives.

Beacon is held during PBA Beauty Week in Las Vegas. In addition to offering a supportive and fun platform for future growth, students attend PBA Symposium, the NAHA Awards Ceremony and Cosmoprof North America.

NAHA and Beacon are part of PBA Beauty Week, North America’s largest, most inclusive beauty event, offering networking, education, and professional growth opportunities to all sectors of the beauty industry. PBA Beauty Week is produced by PBA and is held in cooperation with Cosmoprof North America. PBA Beauty Week will be held July 23-26, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
