Beauty Bash Benefits Susan G. Komen For the CureThe Beauty Bash “Unity Now is a Tomorrow for Everyone” event, benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, took place Saturday, May 14 in Miami Beach. Owner of famous NYC salon, Dop Dop Salon, Jo Blackwell-Preston, served as master of ceremonies. She led the evening with a warm welcome, introducing famous hair stylists from across the globe, including Emmediciotto, Sherri Jessee, Dee Adames, Kaz Amor and Pyure Aveda on stage for live presentations.

Guests were treated to musical performances by Ariel Rose and American Idol’s Tiffany Miranda. The night culminated with a spectacular fashion show featuring designer Jacqueline Quinn’s 2011 collection, which was inspired by the use of renewable resources. The models graced the runway in dresses that incorporated materials provided by Hilton Garden Hotels, Guinness and Emmediciotto Italy. Emmediciotto Italy was the presenting sponsor of this year’s Beauty Bash with the support of the National Latino Cosmetology Association.

Complimentary cocktails and snacks were provided by 10 Cane Rum, Harmonie by Hpnotiq, ZICO Coconut Water, popchips and Island Fusion gourmet dips. Sponsored swag beauty bags included hair care from Surface, Emmediciotto, deFabulous, GKhair, Spornette International, Turbopower pink flat Irons and KollagenX 24KT Collagen treatments for the skin. Several of the models were outfitted with Aqua Hair Extensions and feather additions by Feather Locks. Color and styling products were provided backstage for the celebrity guest artist Aveda, L’Oreal and Rusk.

This effort raised thousands of dollars, with more pledges coming in. Beauty Bash “Unity Now Tomorrow is for Everyone” proved to unite hundreds of people behind the cause, including socialites from LA, NYC, Chicago, Miami and celebrities like Lukas Klessig, fashion/commercial model and executive at Enable Consulting Group; Robert Reed, CEO of ERGO Research; Sherri Martens, former Paul Mitchell distributor; and Mauro Sopranzetti, creative director of Emmediciotto Italy. Additionally, Quinn is auctioning dresses from the show with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
