Farouk Shami Judges Miss Universe LIVE from Brazil

Fresh from escorting Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete to opening ceremonies at Beauty Fair in Sao Paulo, Brazil and attending the ribbon cutting with business partner John McCall and distributors Ikesaki Cosméticos, Farouk Shami, founder and chairman of Farouk Systems, makers of CHI and BioSilk brands and presenting sponsor of the Miss Universe Pageant, recently judged the live televised 60th Annual Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paulo.
 
Hair King Farouk joined the distinguished televised judging panel that included: TV personality Adrienne Maloof, Miss Universe 2003 Amelia Vega, respected journalist Connie Chung, Brazilian auto racer Helio Castroneves, international Brazilian model Isabelli Fontana, Deputy Secretary General of Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association of Football Italo Zanzi, Tony-winning actress Lea Salonga and movie actress Vivica Fox.
 
“Sao Paulo and Brazil was a wonderful host,” says Farouk. “It was a blockbuster weekend for Farouk Systems launching first at Beauty Fair and then being at the Miss Universe Pageant.”  

So who won? The 25-year old Ms. Lopes from Benguela, Angola bested 88 other candidates from around the world! The 2011 Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil was broadcasted LIVE on NBC 9, ET and Telemundo.
