Patrick McIvor, Artistic Director for Matrix, and specialist in social media and new experiential educational formats, is also the owner of his very successful salon Patrick McIvor Color Studio in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We most recently heard about his Apple Digital AV Adapter that mirrors exactly what is on iPad 2 or iPhone 4S that he uses to convey information to his clients or staff via widescreen TV, video projection screen, or other HDMI-compatible display. “With one simple little plug, I can transfer content to a screen that is not only up to the moment - literally I can make changes, deletions on a whim - but because of the advanced technology, my presentations are brought to life in new and wonderful ways,” says McIvor.

But in addition to this simple communication device, McIvor also is a pro at maximizing everything around him.

We sat in at his presentation yesterday at the Matrix Imagine All You Can Be conference presented by Emiliani. The program was held in Melville, NY, and McIvor's presentation was one of the highlights at the event. One of his most important messages for all salon owners was a segment on  HOW TO  MAKE YOUR WALLS TALK. McIvor demo-d, using his Apply Digital AV Adapter, how to utilize inexpensive frames to decorate the salon. These frames are regularly filled with either quotes or images or anything else to keep the decor fresh and the clients interested. "It's a great way to share information about staff members," McIvor told me before the event. "I love to post pictures of the staff member along with his or her publicity. It's works for everyone!"

If you get a chance to attend a McIvor presentation or go to an Imagine All You Can Be conference, it's worth it. McIvor, in addition to helping business owners understand the potential of Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube, QR Codes, he gives tips and insight on how to get the most out of your salon, your staff and yourself.
