Bohemian Bride: Frothy CurlsFrom the gown to the hair, a bride on her wedding day wants everything to play out perfectly. Hair stylist and make-up artist Alima Korchinskaya Bryan created this style that's sure to please your bridal clients! Bryan provided MODERN with a step-by-step of how to achieve this '70s-inspired bohemian babe hair style. "After creating this style, observe your work," says Bryan. "Make sure all sides of your style look smooth, the wave is continuous, and all curls have a beautiful flow as well."

Tools and products needed: Blow dryer, diffuser, vent brush, round brush, carbon comb, aluminum hair clips, 3/4" curling iron, 1" conical curling iron, strong hold mousse, flexible hairspray, finishing hairspray.

Step 1: Preparations of the hair. Apply sufficient amount of styling mousse on freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Blow-dry the hair starting with a vent brush, and finishing with a round brush. The end result is glossy, bouncy hair.

Step 2: Sectioning. With a comb, establish parting starting from the arch of left eyebrow toward the apex. Make second parallel parting approximately 2” apart, and clip this section away. You should have top and bottom sections.

Step 3: Curling all hair. Curl all the hair in the bottom section, using a ¾” curling iron. Start curling hair from ear level towards the ends. Stay consistent with tension around the barrel, and time that you spend to make each curl tight. Clip hot curls away until they cool, otherwise gravity pulls the hair down and weakens the curls.

Step 4: Organizing curls into desired form. Make a horizontal section from ear to ear through the occipital bone. Start teasing hair with your fingers, in this section, until you get good cushion.

Step 5: Check the balance of the style. Hairspray all over the teased area. Use a blow-dryer with a diffuser on low-speed.

Step 6: Start working your way up, comb remaining curls, one by one opening and spreading on top of the teased hair. Check the form of the style.

Step 7: Start curling a top section, using a conical curling iron. Make three diagonal subsections, and wrap each around a barrel, from a roots to ends with even tension. They should look like long spirals.

Step 8: Finishing the style. Comb all three curls together until they start merging into one smooth wave. Clip the wave to the hair that is under, spray with finishing spray for hold, then remove holding clips.
