Matrix's new Biolage ExquisiteOil, a collection of luxurious formulas featuring a Moringa Oil blend, was launched to the press last night in New York City. The presentation was held at a unique and special "cooking class" conducted by celebrity chef Katie Lee.

"This blend offers weightless shine and it nourishes hair the way nature intended," Nick Stenson told me before the class began. "It provides a solution to dull, lackluster hair and penetrates deep into the cuticle to replenish."

According to the support materials, it's the unique Moringa Oil, a unique ingredient revered in many cultures for centuries for its purifying, moisturizing and age-resisting qualities, that makes the difference.  It states: "The Moringa Oil Blend in ExquisiteOil is sourced from the Moringa tree, (known as “The Miracle Tree” in many countries) and is used in its purest, most refined state.  This clear, odorless and colorless botanical contains potent antioxidants to protect strands from environmental aggressors while infusing intense shine. It’s also rich in moisturizing fatty acids. In some cultures, Moringa Oil is even used to purify water sources and as a natural health-enhancer.  In the ExquisiteOil system, it cushions each strand with luxurious emollients, yet it’s weightless and greaseless, making it ideal for every hair type, from fine to thick and coarse."

The ExquisiteOil collection includes:

Micro-Oil Shampoo with Moringa Oil Blend, cleanses as it nourishes to help replenish hair, leaving it silky and healthy-looking.

Oil Crème Conditioner with Moringa Oil Blend, helps restore shine, manageability and control as it detangles with intense yet weightless replenishment.

Replenishing Treatment is a versatile serum infused with Moringa Oil Blend. This ultimate potion gives hair instant shine, nourishment and control.

I managed to grab a couple videos before I took to class! In the first, Colin Walsh, Vice President and General Manager of Matrix, introduces the product followed by Nick Stenson, Matrix Artistic Director, offering a demonstration.

In the second video, Nick Stenson has a brief chat with Katie Lee who shares the importance and value of Moringa Oil, both internally and externally!
