Kate’s hair has finally defied gravity.

At the UK’s Creative Industries Reception at the Royal Academy of Arts on Monday, July 30, 2012, The Duchess of Cambridge’s hair was swept into a beautiful low, side chignon. Paired with Kiki McDonough drop earrings, a blue-gray Roksanda IIincic knee-length dress, and flawless make-up, Kate’s pulled back hair surprised us, compared to her usual long, wavy hair.

Kate was also seen wearing a full updo at a gala in support of the 2012 London Olympics in May. According to the Daily Mail, Kate’s updo came from the courtesy of the Richard Ward Salon in London’s Chelsea, (where Kate also went for her wedding style).

With the spotlight on the Royal family because of the Olympics, Kate’s style really caught our eye. We want to know which Olympians' styles have made you look twice, too!
