Globally recognized stylist, salon owner and product innovator Richard Thompson has re-joined Alfaparf Milano in an exclusive partnership agreement. Thompson helped create Alfaparf’s S4U product line and has renewed his collaboration with the company following his relocation from his native Britain to Italy.

Thompson began his hairdressing career as an apprentice at the venerable James and Peter Salon in Manchester, England. He worked for Vidal Sassoon in London followed by several stints as creative director for various salon groups and, at age 28, opened his own salon, Mahogany in Oxford. The Mahogany Hairdressing Style Team, under Thompson’s leadership, went on to become one of the most successful in the country.

Thompson has been recognized with the British Hairdresser of the Year Award, British Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year Award, AIPP International Avant Garde Hairdresser and has served as president of the British Fellowship of Hairdressing. Thompson’s Mahogany Team has been a perennial participant in London’s Alternative Hair Show.

Thompson defines his hairdressing philosophy in one word, “listening.” He believes that is essential to work closely with clients to find individually suited styles and solutions.  Thompson will work with Alfaparf and its worldwide salons to further both product development and educational opportunities while supporting the Alfaparf mission to “provide professionals the best solutions to enhance everyone’s beauty.” Visit alfaparf.com.
