Colorist Shonda Broadus (@ShondaBroadus) has done it again and created a masterpiece before and after. Take a close look at the after shot and how she meshes together various hues of dark and light blues, icy white, and level 10 platinum highlights all on a level 1 black base. "My client came in with previously colored dark brown hair and wanted silver/black tones," she says. Here, she provides us with her how-to steps:
GET THE LOOK:
STEP 1: "I began by making a zigzag section on top of the head and lifted it a total of three times: once with 10 volume, once with 20 volume and once with 30 volume. For each lift, I processed the hair for about 20 minutes each. I wanted to make sure that she got to a safe level 10."
STEP 2: "After blow drying that section, I pinned it up, and applied the black underneath. Then, I proceeded to apply my different tones of silver on top. Once the vivids were done (20 min process,) I proceeded to shampoo, condition cut and style using Pravana Replenishing oil.
