Gina Atkinson's (@ginaatkinson) client Nicole comes in for a haircolor touch up approximately two times per year. The last time she sat in Atkinson's chair was five months prior. When she came in for her most recent visit (see BEFORE), she requested low-maintenance hair color that brightened up her style and cooled it off at the same time.

Atkinson decided to apply balayage highlights for this dusty pink final result.

STEP 1: Mixed Schwarzkopf BLONDEME with 20vol since her hair was already very light we used no foils in this process (to keep from over processing), all of her balayaged highlights were hand painted on in a V-shaped pattern using Frank Galasso balayage color brushes.

STEP 2: Processed for 15 minutes. No heat.

STEP 3: Rinsed with very cool water and towel dry.

STEP 4: At the base (to about 2 inches off the scalp) we toned with Redken Shades EQ, equal parts 6t+8n. Next mixed was 8v (shades eq) the 8v was applied to about 4 inches from her scalp. The third and final toner mixed was equal parts 9v+9b applied mid shaft to ends.

STEP 5: Process for 25 minutes. Shampooed with Pravana - Pure Light Sulfate-Free Brightening Shampoo, conditioned with Morocannoil Hydrating Mask.
