Lisa Hart-Walker (@superstylist5711), an artist at Creations Salon, Rochester Hills, Michigan, specializes in color and color correction on all hair textures. Hart-Walker credits @cynthialumzy with helping to drive her talent and career.

It shows! When MODERN saw this dramatic correction on Instagram we had to know more. Here Hart-Walker shares the story and how to:

"Her hair was done at another salon the day before," says Hart-Walker. "It was suppose to be an ombré.  She was absolutely devastated. Her hair was super thick and long so the line was very harsh and dense. Since the line was so horizontal I knew it would need a vertical solution." Both artist and client decided to go for something less ombre and more traditional.

Step 1: Begin with a Malibu C CPR treatment to prep the hair. Process approximately 40 minutes. Rough dry.

Step 2: Weave highlights on a steep diagonal from the roots to the line of demarcation. Do this throughout the hair. Color used: TIGI True Light White and 25 volume.

Step 3: Lowlight the hair between with Wella Color Touch 6/71. Process according to manufacturers instructions and then shampoo.

Step 4: Now go back in and highlight again in the opposite direction.

Step 5: Process, rinse and shampoo. Apply porostiy equalizer. Tone with Redken Shades EQ 3/4 09N 3/4 09V 1/4 09T 1/2 clear and 2 1/4 oz processing solution. Process for 15 minutes.
