Who We Are
Keune Haircosmetics, an independent family business based in the Netherlands, was established more than 90 years ago. Today, the company’s haircolor, haircare and styling products can be found in more than 70 countries.

First Person
Keune’s Academy and Technical Director Chris Sulimay examines the company’s unique culture and how Keune Academy can help a salon owner brand and build their business.

Notable Launch
Our Tinta Color Ultimate Cover Series was our most important launch to date this year. This series offers additional gray coverage on resistant gray hair. In 2015, we added a medium-brown and a dark-brown to the Ultimate Cover Natural Shades, as well as Ultimate Cover Shades that have added tones to create perfect gray coverage. The formulas also have nourishing ceramides that, along with the Triple Color Protection of Tinta Color, leave the hair with lots of shine and in amazing condition.

A Family Affair
Keune’s culture is built around our extended family, innovation and professional excellence. After 93 years, Keune is still family-owned and operated. There’s a sense of camaraderie from the highly engaged Keune family of four generations and our North American team members, to the worldwide family of salon profes-sionals in more than 70 countries and, most importantly, our clients.

Keune lives our dedication to both salon professionals and their clients by using only top-quality ingredients in our products. Keune’s color, care and styling ranges are constantly evolving to offer a wide range of current products that stylists need. Integral to our culture, we provide stylists with the tools and accompanying education they need to create and recreate looks that inspire them behind the chair and delight their clients. Whether at the Keune Academy in Atlanta or an in-salon class across North America, we strive to educate Keune users on how to properly color hair—not just how to use our products. Keune’s mission statement really does set the tone for who we are: “Together, we dedicate ourselves to the creation of true elegance.”

A Class for Everyone
At our flagship North American Acad-emy in Atlanta, we offer more than 30 programs a year focusing on a wide range of advanced education. From technical classes to business-building and branding, we support the needs of every stylist and salon owner. Business-building classes like “Brand U” and “Socially Acceptable” are perfect for salon owners and stylists who want to learn how to gain more exposure and attract more of the right kind of clients to their salons. Also, through the Keune Loyalty Club, salons and stylists can earn rewards, including in-salon education on business-building topics ranging from amazing formulation to hands-on workshops and exceptional color consultations.

Formulation for Success
Keune uses a standard level system, with the exception of level 2. We recommend a custom formula for gray coverage with the addition of natural or ultimate cover. Keune fashion shades are formulated with a primary and secondary tonality to give stylists the maximum impact from their color choices. The secondary tone assists the primary character in neutralization or accentuation.
