Calling all American hair cutters!  Let’s own Small Business Saturday.

A few years back American Express launched Small Business Saturday as a campaign to promote shopping small, supporting your local small businesses.  The call to action for consumers  was to choose, in addition to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to create a campaign of support for Saturday shopping local.

I have been a proponent of Small Business Saturday from the start.  I have called it out on social media.  I have offered specials to support my business on that day.

This year Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, November 28th.  This year I am calling on all hair cutters to make Small Business Saturday “Haircut Day”.   This year I am suggesting we all get behind promoting the “shop small” movement by asking our clients to get haircuts at independent haircutters on Saturday, November 28th.

This is better than No-shave Noivember… asking our clients NOT to consume our services.

The outdoor outfitter REI has launched their campaign to #optoutside… Not to shop on Black Friday, but, instead to go out and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family.  They got a ton of publicity for their campaign.  I am participating in #optoutside.  I will go geocacing on Friday, November 27th.

I hope to cut a lot of hair on Saturday, November 28th as a part of small Business Saturday.  Who is with me on this?

Happy Clippering.
