In this exclusive shoot with styling and color powerhouse couple Ted Gibson and Jason BackeL’Oréal Professionnel’s new Pro-Fiber in-salon treatments and products take centerstage. The debuting lineup includes three options to treat all levels of damaged hair: Revive, Restore and Recover.

Customized for specific hair types, each level of treatment is initiated with an in-salon service, then reactivated at home with the shampoo, conditioner, masque, Re-Charge and Leave-In regimen to prolong the results, helping hair to feel softer, smoother and stronger.

Platinum Process

A single-process was applied to the natural level-7 new growth using Majirel Highlift Ash with 30-volume processed for 50 minutes. On towel-dried hair, Backe glossed with Dia Light 10.22 and 15-volume for five minutes. To introduce creamy blonde on blonde dimension, Backe face-framed with Blond Studio Multitechniques Lightening Powder with 20-volume and processed to level 10. He followed with the full Pro-Fiber Revive In-Salon Treatment, for clients with slight damage, and thinning ends and less vibrant haircolor and shine.

“A proper blowdry not only helps to bring out the shine in the hair but also create a beautiful end result,” Gibson says. He began with L’Oréal Professionnel’s Smooth Velours smoothing lotion at the scalp then L’Oréal Professionnel’s Tecni Art’s Sleek & Swing on mids and ends. “Taking hair in one-inch sections use a flat brush and lift hair from the scalp and follow the hair all the way to the ends. Spray L’Oréal Professionnel’s Tecni Art’s Infinium 4 hairspray on the hair before flatironing to give light weight control and movement to the hair.”

Wave Rider

After a partial highlight applied on diagonal placement, Backe alternated Majilift 600s and 607 with 30-volume developer, processing for 15 minutes. With the foils still in the hair, he applied Blond Studio Sunkist Lightening Oil with 30-volume to the mid-lengths and ends and processed an additional 15 minutes. He followed with the full Pro-Fiber Restore In-Salon Treatment, designed for rough, uneven, damaged hair with split ends and dullness caused by heat and chemical processing. After creating a deep side part, Gibson sprayed with L’Oréal Professionnel’s Densite and blew out with a roundbrush. The hair was wrapped around a medium-barrel Marcel iron, then pin curled. Ends were pulled down with fingers and fl atironed. He then smoothed with L’Oréal Professionnel’s Architexture on the front area of the hair for defi nition and to tame fly-aways.

J'Adore

After a full Pro-Fiber Recover In-Salon Treatment, for damaged hair with breakage and a matte fi nish, Gibson created a modern French twist by beginning with L’Oréal Professionnel’s Mythic Oil. “For me it’s about textures of hair not the color of the skin,” Gibson says. “I use the same techniques on textured hair as I do on fine textured hair. The right tools are essential in creating, beautiful sexy hair.” Gibson began by spraying Wild Stylers Crêpage De Chignonat the base for added lift and texture. Then, he curled the entire head in off-base curls, pinning each section to set. “Then I sectioned out her bangs and back-combed the entire head starting at the nape. I twisted the hair into a modern French, and sprayed with Extreme Lacquer hairspray.”
