Volunteering Is a Work of Heart

We may make a living through design but we make an impact by giving back. Our team recently volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, a team-building environment where people of all backgrounds come together for a common cause: Packing nutritious, life-saving meals for hungry and malnourished children.

For our Show Services Coordinator, Christine Leys, it left an impression she will not soon forget…“For me, it was a very rewarding experience.  They really give you a lot of detail on how your time there will benefit others (i.e. how many children you will feed and for how long). I found it amazing that the two hours we volunteered could have that kind of impact. It also served as a fun experience to bond with our team.”

The meals packed by our staff and the other volunteers were shipped to nearly 70 countries, offering hope to the hungry and building future generations of healthy children. Striving to eliminate starvation in children throughout the world, the organization looks to instill compassion in people to hear and respond to those in need. The experience made us realize what a blessing it is to be able to give back, as there’s no better feeling than helping to transform a child’s life. That day, it became clear…when action meets compassion, you can create change.

We hope this serves as some inspiration to volunteer for a cause close to your hearts. Not for pride or publicity, but to reinvest in your community and contribute to the greater good of society. This season, please remember there is always something to be thankful for. Happy Holidays!
