Tai Kieu (@taitkieuapril05), a stylist at Bebe Salon, Garden Grove, California, says "My client been getting highlights for the last 2 years on her natural Asian level 2 hair. So when she first came to my chair, her hair had been highlighted to level 10 and 9 with random pieces of level 8 at the bottom. Her natural level 2 roots had been growing out for about 2 to 3 months." Here she shares the details for this gorgeous transformation:

PREPARE:
Apply bleach touch up to the roots area and lift to a level 9. Apply lightener with Olaplex to mids and ends to get rid of the darker pieces in her previous highlights. Watch hair carefully, rinse and re-apply bleach to darker area until all hair is lifted evenly. The "before" picture is of the hair after lightening process. Her top lifted evenly to level 10 and her ends remained slightly darker.

TONE:
Toner: (all Kenra Demi Permanent color with 9 volume developer)
A: 7SM + 7VM + 1/2 inch of 1N + 2 inches of Blue Booster
B: 8SM + 7VM 1/4 inch of 1N + 1 inch Blue Booster
C: 10SM half + 9VM half + a dot of 1N + 1 inch of Blue Booster
Apply color to hair in a color melt technique, pulling formula A down 1 1/2 inches. Then smudge to B and finally C at the ends.

Rinse and then apply Olaplex #2 for 10 minutes. Wash, condition and style.
