Joseph DiMaggio for Davines North America was the lead hair stylist at the Creatures of Comfort fall/winter 2016 presentation at NYFW.

"The collection has the ultimate cool-girl vibe, so we wanted to give the hair an effortless and romantic feel," DiMaggio said. "I left the hair slightly undone and created textured waves to match the freeness of the silhouettes in the clothing. I chose to create a deep side part and pin it back to echo a sense of  youthfulness which also comes through in the collection. Ultimately it was a beautiful collaboration with Jade (the designer) on crafting this chic look.”

To create the look, DiMaggio started by blowdrying hair, pulling at the root in an upward motion to create volume. Next, he created a deep side part, spraying Your Hair Assistant Perfecting Hairspray in half-inch sections.

For the waves, using a 1.5 inch flat iron, DiMaggio created "push waves", clasping the flat iron starting 1/4 of the way down from the root, then twisting his wrist over, pulling hair down and rotating. With his other hand, he pulled the remaining hair in the opposite direction. He repeated over the entire head.

To finish, he used Your Hair Assistant Volume Creator and brushed all over hair in order to enhance the waves. Pin hair on the heavier side and give a final tousle to hair with fingers.
