The Event: On January 18 and 19, 2016 in Redondo Beach, CA at the Marriott Hotel, Sexy Hair, the global hair care company known for its Big Sexy Hair line, welcomed 200 stylists, educators and members of their sales and marketing teams to The Sexy Hair 2016 Team Experience, two days of training, trend presentations and internal meetings and networking. The conference offered the opportunity for everyone to get up close to the company’s culture and its mission.

The Details: Bubbles were blown to signify lift-off of the conference. Sexy Hair educators received personal growth training, hands-on hair education and an introduction to new Sexy Hair products and the newly launched 2016 Sexy Hair California Dreamin’ haircut collection, inspired by the sun, surf and fun of the California coast.  Educators also rehearsed or auditioned to become platform artists.

“The hands-on sessions and dynamic group experiences were specially designed to help empower, educate and inspire educators to think outside the box,” Stephanie Polansky, Director of Education for Sexy Hair Polansky, says. “The result was this profound experience that helped increase their self-confidence in front of a group, expand their knowledge-base and help them map out their career path with Sexy Hair.”

The Lunch: To emphasize the importance of “powering down” as professionals, artists and people, lunch was presented in the dark, which encouraged reliance on other senses. With both the lights and their phones shut off, attendees tuned into the experience and to each other in a more meaningful way.

The Awards:  On Monday night, a Red Party was held at the Annenberg Beach House in Malibu, CA, where Sexy Hair has found a home for its Sexy Hair Academy.That same evening, several education team members were recognized for their outstanding work with the company. Awards included:

  • Award of Excellence: Sharon Hart
  • Rising Stars: Chasity Bogard, Marc Mapile and Amy Robinson
    Regional Education Manager of the Year: Tammy Counterman
