MODERN teamed up with America’s Beauty Show to bring ticket-holding attendees ColorFest 2016 on Monday, March 14, in the main ballroom just off the show floor. Colorists and salon owners got exclusive access to the latest color trends, social media tips and money-making tips and techniques to grow their color business.

Editor in Chief Alison Alhamed hosted interviews and presentations with NAHA-winner Chrystofer Benson of Matrix, Larisa Love of Instagram fame (@larisadoll), Keratin Complex’s Deb Gavin, Malibu C’s Tom Porter, CoCre8 founders John Simpson and Christopher Dove, J.Gordon Designs Owner Karen Gordon and Joe Santy with Olaplex.

Attendees had the opportunity to network with ColorFest sponsors (including Schwarzkopf Professional, Aloxxi, SureTint, Rusk, Keune, Goldwell, TIGI, Aveda, Joico, Redken, Farouk and more to obtain more information and score some samples. Love stuck around after her presentation for a meet-and-greet on the MODERN SALON step and repeat; she posed for pictures and answered color and social media questions from curious stylists.

Additionally, MODERN Publisher Steve Reiss presented research results from the 2015 PROCESS supplement, which broke down misconceptions in color business between clients and professionals.
