Nick Stenson, Senior Creative Director, JCP Salon/The Salon By InStyle, spent one full week at the Pier 59 Studios in NYC creating magic on 45 models representing everything from children to men to classic beautiful women. "We are covering it all here," said Stenson when MODERN stopped by to visit on day 4. "This is all for our Fall/Winter 2016 Trend Release which will include cut, color, shape, texture and more. It's everything you, the salon professional, will need from late summer through holiday."
Stenson gathered his core team including Michael Albor, Michelle O'Connor, Shaun Brezanin, Miquelina Mejia, Viktoriya Yeremchuk, Dilek Onur-Taylor, and L'Anza Global Creative Director Ammon Carver, to create amazing professional but consumer friendly finishes on each model. All were supported by an A team of make up artists from Sephora and talented fashion stylists using all JCP fashion.
The release is designed to inspire the JCP salon pros and their clients. "Our challenge is to create looks that are exciting for hairdressers and colorists, but still something the client can relate to," says Carver. "The release offers a wonderful consultation tool and the pro book offers fantastic step by step guidance for the professional." Adds Artistic Director Dilek Onur-Taylor, "We're seeing looks that have the pro touch but are wearable. The trend has everything including upstyles, downstyles, braids, long, short, straight, curly - everything. Everything we shoot on set is also taped for video step by step for our 14,000 JCP salon pros and will be taught in the more than 20,000 classes to be held over the next year."
