Hello everyone! I am Hannah Barnette and I am about to take you through my year-long journey at Aveda Institute in Charlotte, NC. I am very excited to get started! I believe that this is what I really want to do and what interests me. It is exciting to know that I could be doing what I love and getting paid for it for the rest of my life.

So, I moved to Charlotte, NC, from Chicago, IL, in the beginning of November of 2015 for school. The Aveda Institute in Charlotte was the most put together and welcoming school out of all of the Aveda Institutes - and it had the highest graduation rate. Getting started at this school couldn’t come soon enough!

Going through Camp Aveda was a great experience. I learned about Aveda's history, all about their products, and I met the students I was about to spend the next year of my life with. Getting a GIANT box of my cosmetology supplies was amazing! It took SO long to open and get organized because of how much there was! I went through it easily three times the day I got it. I am SO excited to really dive into the cosmetology world!

The first day we learned how to section hair! The first day! I was not expecting to get my hands on a mannequin the first day of class. I felt professional already! I am very interested in seeing what there is to come...

See you in two weeks,

Hannah <3

How To Winterize a Summer Blonde: Babylights with Reverse Balayage using Redken pH Bonder

Alison Alhamed and Jamie Newman | November 29, 2016

Our summer blonde made the perfect model to demonstrate the beauty of Redken’s new pH Bonder because although she isn’t frequently coloring her hair, living in New York City means she’s walking outside a lot with exposure to the sun and city elements—plus thermal damage from regular use of a curling wand or flatiron. So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.
