Lydia Sarfati, the queen of skin care and founder of Repechage, says that the proper diagnosis is imperitive in ANY skin care service and will ultimately help in retail sales.

In addition to looking at the skin closely, Sarfati advises that all estheticians, before even touching the skin, interview the client thoroughly learning about at home care, what medications and vitamins she takes and more. "You must know how she cares for herself before suggesting retail products," says Sarfati. "The goal for both of you is fantastic skin."
