MAKEOVER: Balayage Perfection

Maggie Mulhern | June 8, 2016 | 6:18 AM

This BALAYAGE BLONDE, created at the most recent Balayage Workshop at the Eva Scrivo Academy, has created quite the buzz. MODERN caught up with Scrivo to get more details on how she took this banded/spotty before into a seamless balayage after.

BEFORE: Natural base (level 4) and lighter ends (level 8). Grown out, balayage highlights with multiple bands and spots of color (about 4 months of regrowth).

Step 1: Using V and W sectioning, balayage the hair with Goldwell SilkLift with 20 volume developer, omitting some of the top sections to maintain root-depth.

Step 2: Process for 30 minutes and rinse.

Step 3: Glaze with L'Oreal Professionnel Richesse 9N + 9 volume developer. Rinse, dry and style.

So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.
