Color Correction from Orange and Banded to Lavender Metallic

Anne Moratto | July 7, 2016 | 5:13 AM

We spotted this metal makeover by Marco, a colorist in Santa Maria, CA (@mginnovation on Instagram) and believe it is a must-share. His client was a walk-in, with about three inch re-growth and one inch pre-lightend band of yellow/orange pigment hair throughout. He put those bands on the run.

COLOR CORRECTION Process and Formula

  • At the root: 20 volume plus Blue Base lightener + Eufora Color Elixir
  • Color balance using 20 volume Blue Base Lightener to clean out the canvas.
  • Primed using Kenra VP Rapid Toner +  10 volume.
  • To fill, used Kenra 7SM and volume 10 on dry hair

CONVERSION: From Warm to Cool

Maggie Mulhern | April 17, 2017

"This client came in with very brassy, yellow and orange tones throughout her hair," says Austin Senior. "She was all levels 8 and 9 with about 5 inches of her natural level 7 regrowth. Her goal was a very cool platinum blonde with no silver and a shadow root slightly darker/cooler than her natural level." Here Senior shares the details for this makeover.
