Jennifer Dozier Horter (@bombshellsalon), Paul Mitchell National Educator and owner of Bombshell Salon, Ellicott City, MD, had quite the challenge with this new guest, a stylist from another salon. "She came to a class where I was doing a presentation and decided that we were an appropriate choice for a project of this magnitude," says Horter. "The fact that she was a stylist really helped her in understanding this process."

Here Horter shares the HOW TO in this correction that took 5 1/2 hours:

(Client arrived with a black to purple ombre)

Step 1: Apply a color remover (roots to ends) to her existing black to purple ombre. Shampoo with Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3. Rinse and dry the hair.

Step 2: Place foil highlights in alternating diagonal sections using Paul Mitchell Synchrolift with 20 volume Paul Mitchell cream developer to where the black pulled up yellow and orange.

Step 3:  Paint Colorxg 1part 4rv and 1 part 3vr with a ribbon of equal parts Red and Violet Intensifiers blended with Paul Mitchell 10 volume Cream Developer to where the purple pulled up mint green.

Step 4: Process for 35 minutes and then rinse and shampoo with Paul Mitchell Shampoo 2. Apply Paul Mitchell Hair Repair Treatment combined with Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer. Cover with a cap and place under a hood dryer for 15 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse thoroughly and dry. From roots to ends apply Paul Mitchell Inkworks Hot Pink with a dot of Purple. Process for 25 minutes. Rinse thoroughly but do not shampoo. Apply Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair Spray.

Step 6: CUT/FINISH - In order to salvage the length remove only an inch, but add in layers to the interior where there were none. Finish with a round brush using a 1 and 1/2 inch curling iron in vertical back sections. Spray with Marula Oil Finishing spray.
