How-To: From Stripes to Dimension and Lightness

Anne Moratto | August 8, 2016 | 2:20 PM

We're big fans of Joy LaMay (@joydivided), a master colorist who shares her fix for this stripe-fright.

"My poor new friend was DEVASTATED when this happened to her," LaMay says. "After a proper consultation she wanted a soft dimensional brunette that would be easy to care for."

HOW TO:

STEP ONE: I started by using equal parts of 5/07 and 6/07 with 10vol at the base and pulling it down.

STEP TWO: Then with Wella Color Touch.. 20g 6/35, 15g of 7/73 and 1.9% for the ends.

"Now she has dimension and lightness without the stripes!"

So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.
