Makeover: Blah Brown To Bright Blonde

Maggie Mulhern | September 9, 2016 | 7:04 PM

When we saw this powerful transformation on Instagram, we tracked down the team from Telleish Hair Studio (@telleish_hair_studio) of Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to get more details. Here it is what was sent to MODERN:

"Telleish is a stylish and vibrant  blonde specialist salon located on trendy Bay St, Port Melbourne. Comprised of a team of experience, enthusiastic and professional artists, each dedicated to achieving excellence in the latest fashion trends and styling. Telleish has been voted one of Melbourne’s Best Blonde Salon’s and upholds their reputation."

Step 1: Pre-treat with Olaplex #1 for 5 mintues, and then Olaplex #2 for 15 minutes prior to starting the color service. "This was to restore the condition of the fragile ends, aiding in us gaining the best outcome."

Step 2: Blend 30 grams of Lakme K-Blonde with 60 grams of Lakme 30 volume. 7.5 grams of Olaplex #1 was added to this mixture. At half way, refresh the lightener by creating a fresh batch "to ensure the strength and consistence of the lightener remained the same throughout the color service."

Step 3: Process to the desired lift and rinse. Shampoo and then tone with Lakme Gloss 10 grams 9/06, 10 grams 10/20 and 20 grams 0/00.

Step 4: Process for 10 minutes. Rinse.

Alison Alhamed and Jamie Newman | November 29, 2016

Our summer blonde made the perfect model to demonstrate the beauty of Redken’s new pH Bonder because although she isn’t frequently coloring her hair, living in New York City means she’s walking outside a lot with exposure to the sun and city elements—plus thermal damage from regular use of a curling wand or flatiron. So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.
