90-year-old Mabel Robinson has been running her salon business since receiving her hairdressing and cosmetology certificate from Boston's Wilfred Academy in 1946, making it the longest-running business of its kind in Atlantic Canada, if not in the country.

She is the subject of  a National Film Board documentary Mabel, directed by Teresa MacInnes, which premiered  at the Atlantic Film Festival.

"I enjoy it, I like meeting the people and talking to them, I think it's what keeps me going, really," Mabel says."I know some people think it's crazy to keep working, but I enjoy it, so that's the main thing."
