Congratulations to @mtlewisstylist for earning first place in Pravana's Best of Balayage contest! Judged by Pravana’s Artistic Color Director Vadre Grigsby; MODERN SALON’s Editor in Chief Alison Alhamed; and The Business of Balayage co-founders Lindsay Ryffel and Amber O’Hara, her work and multiple entries were inspiring, beautiful and worthy of top honors.

She will receive an entire year’s supply of Pravana’s blonding product worth more than $10,000—plus features on @modernsalon’s social pages, modernsalon.com AND editorial in MODERN SALON magazine!

She created her winning look by using Pravana's Pure Enlighten with medium lift, then wrapped the hair and processed without heat for 40 minutes. Next, she toned the hair with Pravana Express Tones 1/2 Beige with 1/2 Violet for 5 minutes.

CONVERSION: From Warm to Cool

Maggie Mulhern | April 17, 2017

"This client came in with very brassy, yellow and orange tones throughout her hair," says Austin Senior. "She was all levels 8 and 9 with about 5 inches of her natural level 7 regrowth. Her goal was a very cool platinum blonde with no silver and a shadow root slightly darker/cooler than her natural level." Here Senior shares the details for this makeover.
